Problem:
Health Psychology http://skyline.cudenver.edu/record=b2049221~S0 has a link to content on PsycArticles. We have access only to 2007-2009, 2004 and 1984. Previously (in a screenshot from 2/10/09) we had access from 1982-current (with 1986 & 1987 missing).

10/5/09 response back from CSA: Thank you for contacting Technical Support. I've reviewed the journal in question and have confirmed that the browse by volume in CSA is currently only showing a limited number of dates. The additional content still appears to be in the index so you can run an advanced search for the journal by name or ISSN and you will be able to return search results as a work around. I will be writing up the issue and passing it along to our CSA developer responsible for this content. ej
10/5/09 sent message to CSA inquiring about the missing issues. ej

Sage Journals and GoldRush linker

Problem: When using Gold Rush to find full text of a Sage journal article we get an error. Reference reports:
I ran into 2 problems with Sage journals while I was teaching this morning:
1) In Gold Rush (while I was using Academic Search Premier and Criminal Justice Abstracts), I would click the link to a Sage database under Article Abstracts, and get an error message. This happened at least 4 times.
2) In Gold Rush (while using the same 2 databases), there were supposed links to Sage databases under Article Access for articles we didn't subscribe to. For example, an article from the journal Trauma, Violence and Abuse showed a link, yet we did not subscribe to the journal for the year it was published.

Status: resolved
Troubleshooting notes:
7/14/2009 The gr settings were reset and the problem is resolved.
7/14/2009 Recreating the problem shows the CSA databases logo appears on the error message. This seems to indicate GR linker is still trying to use the old link to CSA Sage which is no longer available to us since Sage removed it's content from CSA. GB

Problem: Reference reports that the GR Linker/ILL/Catalog links for each article in the CSA databases do not show.

Troubleshooting notes:
4/20/09 Response from vendor: "I just wanted to follow up with you to let you know one of our servers was having issues on Friday that created your missing links issue. That issue was resolved Friday evening and should no longer be an issue today. Please test accessing CSA and let me know if the issue has been resolved." ej
4/19/09 The links are back. EJ
4/17/09 Called support again, and a different support guy at CSA is digging into this. Sent him a screenshot of a page with search results, so he can see what we're seeing. ej
4/17/09 checked in the CSA admin module and everything is in order. Talked to CSA tech support and they accessed our acct and all the links show up for them. Any ideas, gb? ej

Problem: The link between CSA PsycInfo and ScienceDirect where the full text of this journal resides is broken for one issue in December 2007, Vol. 41 (6, Suppl) references point to Vol. 41 (1) July 2007. Unfortunately this issue has some assigned reading in a course.

Problem: No access to CSA databases on April 20, and April 28. Reported by WAT.
Assigned to: ej
Priority: medium
Status: resolved
Summary of solution: 5/5/08 EJ contacted our CSA rep, who forwarded the problem to tech support. According to the tech person, the latest downtime we experienced was due to a CSA server problem (from the tech person's email):
"There was an unexpected problem with one of our servers (md1.csa.com). Based on the error messages you sent, that was the cause of the problem you experienced.
"Can't connect to MySQL server on 'md1.csa.com'"
The server was fixed late morning. All servers are working fine now."
Troubleshooting notes:
4/29/08 EJ emailed Jeremy Zahrte, our rep at Proquest (owns CSA now).:
Hi Jeremy--In the past couple of weeks, we have had reports from Reference librarians of loss of access to the CSA databases.
These are the specific dates and times that loss of access were reported: Sunday, April 20 (afternoon) and Monday, April 28 (8:30ish mdt).
We're wondering if there has been systemwide problems or if it's just us.
(I included WAT's error messages in the email EJ)
