Problem: When using Gold Rush to find full text of a Sage journal article we get an error. Reference reports:
I ran into 2 problems with Sage journals while I was teaching this morning:
1) In Gold Rush (while I was using Academic Search Premier and Criminal Justice Abstracts), I would click the link to a Sage database under Article Abstracts, and get an error message. This happened at least 4 times.
2) In Gold Rush (while using the same 2 databases), there were supposed links to Sage databases under Article Access for articles we didn't subscribe to. For example, an article from the journal Trauma, Violence and Abuse showed a link, yet we did not subscribe to the journal for the year it was published.

Troubleshooting notes:
7/14/2009 The gr settings were reset and the problem is resolved.
7/14/2009 Recreating the problem shows the CSA databases logo appears on the error message. This seems to indicate GR linker is still trying to use the old link to CSA Sage which is no longer available to us since Sage removed it's content from CSA. GB

7/7/09 - It looks as if the base pattern of the url to this resource as it comes from Cornell has changed from http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/moa/browse.journals/nora.html to http://digital.library.cornell.edu/n/nora/index.html. Update the linker? Also I did not test the University of Michigan link to see if it was still working. gb

Problem:
When using Goldrush linker from an article in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found in Academic Search Premier the link to the publisher(Elsevier Science Direct) sends you to a splach page to pick the Elsevierdatabase you want to use instead of going directly to the article.

7/13/09 Heard back from Elsevier. Here's a link to info on how to minimize the occurence of receiving the intermediate splash page. http://www.info.sciencedirect.com/implementation/linking/articlelocator/ GB, can you take a look. It revolves around "cookie pushers" which I don't know much about. Thanks EJ
6/9/09 I know what you're talking about. I looked into this unsuccessfully about two years ago, but I emailed our Elsevier rep to ask again if there is anything we can do to stop that intermediate page from showing up, and have the link go directly to the article. In my past experience, it seems to be medical titles that do this. ej

Problem: KS reports no article-level links in the GR Linker to New York Times articles that are ft in Academic One File.

Troubleshooting notes:
1/21/09 This can not be fixed presently. Gold Rush reports that Ebsco does not send along volume and issue number for newspapers in the OpenURL, so Gale cannot resolve the request to the article-level. Gale needs a volume # and issue in order to deliver the article via the GR Linker, and other link resolvers too for that matter. (EJ)

Operations Research
Problem: Ebsco, GRLinker and Gale all say we have fulltext access to current issues of Operations Research (http://132.194.32.30/record=b2055635) when we only seem to have through 2003 through Jstor.

Troubleshooting notes:
12/01/08 There is a 2 year full text embargo on all the Gale & Ebsco databases for this title, with the exception of Gale's Business & Co Resource Ctr which has a 1 year embargo. SerSol calculates the ending dates on titles with embargoes, and the only holdings that is incorrect is for General OneFile. It has a 2 year embargo also, and should have the same ending date (Oct 22, 2006) as the others. With the next coverage load, the ending dates on all of these holdings should change to something like Nov 22, 2006. I'll doublecheck after the December coverage load & if General OneFile is still wrong, I'll contact Serials Solutions. EJ
12/01/08 - A professor was looking for this, pointed them to ILL for access now and to TB for more access in the future.

Troubleshooting notes:
10/3/08 I got rid of the EJS links, and activated the Haworth links. The article level links don't work, but the journal level link does, as in this GR Linker results screen example:http://tinyurl.com/4plcvs .I need to talk to Gold Rush about changing the urls on the rest of the Haworth titles (50+) and see if they can figure out how to do article-level links. I'll look into this on MOnday. EJ
