Journal of Sports Medicine & Physical Fitness

Problem: Online access to title was not setup. http://skyline.cudenver.edu/record=b2154345

Assigned to: DP
Priority: High
Status: in progress

Troubleshooting notes:
12/8/08 http://www.minervamedica.it/ needs to be entered in the WAM table (EJS title) for J of Sports Medicine & Physical Fitness to be accessible from off campus as well.
12/8/08 Now it points to the correct page (journals in English)
9/12/08 EBSCO has attempted to contact publisher. Has not been able to receive info yet.
9/9/08 Contacted HB at EBSCO for assistance.
9/5/08 Contacted publisher at subscriptions.dept@minervamedica.it, requesting UserID info needed for online registration. No response.

  1. Here is EBSCO's response after I told them that the link on the EJS page does not take us directly to the correct page. I gave them a snagit shot of the url where we want to go, but they can't seem to direct us there. This has happened before.

    On 11/11/08, EBSCO said:

"After researching, our Content Team has informed that the URL you provided does not resolve to content for this title on the Publisher's Site and our Content Team does not have access to the page the has been provided in the screenshot to research the link. Due to these reasons, the Publisher's Site link is resolving correctly on EJS for this title."

  3. 12/8/08 Retest after the WAM entry and could get to the content (PDFs). Some problems however. 1) There is a page in Italian warning that cookies must be enabled to use their site. The user needs to click on 'Reiviste' which I think means continue. 2) The link when used from off campus goes to the wrong page again. It goes to the journal cover page (in English which is good) and a user still needs to click on 'Journals' in the left column. 3) Also when you click on the link to the PDF two out of two times the response is that the file is damaged. When you persist (say ok and wait or refresh) you actually do get the whole PDF - eventually.

  4. I think this is probably the best we can do with this title. The problems are beyond anything we have control over. I checked SerSol and it is available in some Proquest databases, but we don't have access to any of them, so this is all we have, the link to content on the publisher page.

    Hello,

We have a print + online subscription to J. of Sports Medicine & Physical Fitness through our subscription agent EBSCO. We pay hundreds of dollars every year for this subscription. Last year we had difficulty with our online access. It is happening again this year. We are getting frustrated trying to register and activate our online access. We don’t know what the problem is. If we continue to have problems with this journal I will recommend that we cancel it.

Please activate our online access as soon as possible. Our subscriber code is 0xxxxx. Our IP addresses are:
